Our audience truly is global.
Including last year’s first season, we have had visits from 44 countries around the world! Google Analytics tells me there have been visits from 430 different cities.
Kids definitely have a voice, and their opinions do matter.

We were very excited to have been visited by a fourth year journalism student from Carleton University. Alana Range came to ALC to interview Mrs. Smith, our students and me about our podcast Portable Radio. The show aired on CKCU Wednesday, February 14. You can listen to the documentary at the Midweek site:

http://www.carleton.ca/midweek/archives.php?show=140207

The piece is called Podcasting Pupils. Here is the introduction to the documentary:

Two teachers at A. Lorne Cassidy elementary school in Stittsville are changing the way students in their classrooms learn. “Portable Radio” is their online radio podcast production that’s helping students get inspired and bringing the classroom home for parents. Midweek’s Alana Range has this documentary.

Please! The students and teachers of Portable Radio really want to hear from you. Leave a comment here or give us a call. Our voice mail is 613-831-8853 extension 358. We might even include your message on a future podcast!
